PANJGUR: A student activist from Baluchistan has said Pakistani intelligence agencies who extra judicially abduct Baluch youth and political workers torture them to get confession of their links with the Indian and Israeli secret services.
Shahzeb Baloch, president of the militant Baloch Students Organization (Azad) in capital Quetta, who was kidnapped on March 25 and recently released from illegal custody of Pakistan's Military Intelligence, told newsmen
during his torture at a military dungeon he was repeatedly asked how India and Israel are helping the Baloch liberation movement
"They asked me how much does each Baloch get working for the Indian RAW and Israeli MOSSAD," he said.
Shahzeb Baloch that these questions explicitly showed the Punjabi establishment mindset that the Baloch movement is being orchestrated by India and Israel.
The DC-based American Friends of Baluchistan appealed to the world to come to the rescue of the secular Baluch people.
"We call on people of all religions, beliefs, faiths, ideologies to come forward to help the Baluch. In particular, the United States, India and Israel have to play a special role if they really want to keep the Taliban away from our strategically located homeland," said Mohammed Ali Baloch, presiding council member of the American Friends of Baluchistan. "We are being punished because of our secular world outlook that Christians, Hindus, Jews, atheists or any other ideological persuasion are our brothers."
A section of the Pakistani military establishment suspects the Indian and Israeli intelligence were colluding with the Central Intelligence Agency to foment trouble in Baluchistan, though most media reports suggest the CIA was only involved in training the Baluch in the Iranian part of Baluchistan.
Stateless and Texas-sized, Baluchistan is divided among Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan.
He said that on the first day of his abduction and illegal detention he was taken to a senior Interrogation officer who warned him that there are already more than 500 Balochs in the torture cell and if he didn't cooperate with the authorities he would have to face the same fate as the other Baloch detainees and rot in the cell for the rest of this life
In the torture cell, he saw the inhuman conditions being faced by the other inmates notably Chakar Qambrani, Fareed Baloch, Nazeer Marri and Karam Khan Marri.
"Fareed Baloch, 25, a student of Masters in Computer Sciences had lost his sanity due to the torture. Karam Khan Marri, who is a resident of Manghopir in Karachi is now disabled due to the severe torture he faced on his body and reproductive organs," he said.
Severe torture of Baluch abducted prisoners by the I.S.I., that include cuts on their penises, have been widely documented by international human rights groups.
The Asian Human Rights Commission last year reported that Munir Mengal , who had wanted to launch a Baluch language television channel, was severely tortured and cuts were inflicted on his penis after he refused to have sex with Zarina Marri, 23, a Baluch woman teacher who has been turned into sex slavery.
Mengal is now in exile in Paris.
Shahzeb Baloch said that he was shocked to see Pashtuns from the Frontier Province were also involved in the barbaric tortures of the Baloch in the torture cells.
"I was disappointed to see the Pashtuns there as they themselves are an oppressed nation, but still they are working as mercenaries for the Punjabi army." he said.
He said the infamous torture cells at Guantanamo Bay would be a bed roses compared to the barabrism and inhumanity faced by the baluch in Pakistani torture cells.
Last month, school children including the children of a Baluch missing Chakar Qambarani went on a hunger strike in Quetta.
Qambrani, a member pf the central committee of the Balochistan Republican Party was abducted by by Pakistani spooks from Quetta on February 6, 2009.
On February 13th 2009, Jalil Reki Baloch, central Information secretary of the same party was also abducted by Pakistani intelligence from Quetta.
The family of another missing person, Iqbal Baloch, traveled all the way from Balochistan to Islamabad to protest in front of Supreme Court of Pakistan where they iwere beaten up by the police. Iqbal Baloch was abducted on March 14 2007 near Mand town in Balochistan.
Courts and other civilian institutions do not dare to challenge the acts of the intelligence services, namely theinter services Intelligence, Military Intelligence [M.I.] and Intelligence Bureau [I.B.].
According to London-based Baluch national hero, Hairbyair Marri the so called democratic and elected controlled by these secret services and the only solution for the Baluch is to demand liberation. "The agencies have turned into supra state actors in Baluchistan," Marri charged.
During his interrogation and torture, Shahzeb Baloch said, he was asked about the core leaders of the Baloch National Front and Baloch Students Organization.
He said Pakistani secret agencies think the B.S.O. is serving as a breeding ground for the Baloch Liberation Army and other armed groups working for the Independence of Balochistan.
Zakir Majeed, vice president of the B.S.O. who abducted from Mastung on June 8, 2009 and is still missing.
Shahzeb Baloch said he fears for Zakir Majeed's life.
Shahzeb Baloch appealed to international human rights organizations and United Nation's to take measures to have countless illegally detained Balochs in Pakistani torture cells who are facing severe torture as their lives are in danger.
