The De Jure Ruler of Baluchistan, Khan of Kalat Suleman Daud, has rejected offers from Islamabad to return to Pakistan and has vowed to knock the doors of the International Court of Justice to get the legitimacy and sovereign status of Baluchistan recognized.

The Khan of Kalat asked how could he trust President Asif Ali Zardari's assurances when Zardari himself does not trust Pakistani institutions and has asked the United Nations to conduct a probe into the killing of his wife, twice prime minister Benazir Bhutto.

Almost all tribes in Baluchistan respect the Khan of Kalat, as his person symbolizes the continuation of a 400-year old Baluch institution.

In an interview earlier this year, the Khan of Kalat explained why he did not want to return to Pakistan.
