A former chief of India's foreign spy service Research and Analysis Wing has written extremely highly about the doyens of Baluch liberation movement, Nawab Khair Bakhsh Marri, Sardar Ataullah Mengal and the late Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti.

The former RAW chief, B. Raman, who is an intellectual par excellence, described the Baluch as the most secular people in Pakistan.

In fact, the Baluch love slain Indian premier Indira Gandhi and call her their aunt because of her support to the liberation struggle of Bangladesh. They are bitterly complaining that India has done precious little to support their struggle for Baluch liberation.

However, B. Raman onlyl mentioned two Baluch wars of liberation whereas there have been five wars of liberation against Pakistani occupation eversince Baluchistan was illegally annexed on March 27, 1948.
